|Botanical Name||Pinus radiata|
|Common Name||Monterey Pine|
|Notes||Every large house in this area seems to have planted Monterey Pines about 100 years ago, there are several across the Beatlands area of Salcombe Hill. With a girth of over 5m, this tree is probably about 140 years old. Easily identified by the dark green domed canopy and the large cones that are retained on the upper branches. If you pick up some of the dropped needles you will see they come in threes.|
