Huge thank you to Catherine and James for the sausage sandwiches and home made soup last weekend when we went up to Farway Common Airfield to plant 1,500 whips in a 350m hedge.  Not to mention their generous donation towards the cost of the project.

Thank you also to the Community Projects Fund, part of the East Devon National Landscape (formerly AONB) for their grant, and the Woodland Trust for their contribution of 420 whips.

Of course, the biggest thank you has to go to the volunteers who gave up their time to create the hedgerow which will benefit wildlife as it it grows, as well as being part of the evolving whole river catchment project that seeks to improve the biodiversity of the river and slow down the run off from the valleys uplands after heavy rain, there will be much more about that in June.
